As one of the major programs of Guide Right, the Arlington/Grand Prairie Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. – Kappa Instructional League Program (Kappa League) is a developmental and enrichment program designed solely for the benefit of its participants, referred to as “Kappa Leaguers”, by providing a structured environment of positive male role models and a multiplicity of activities for the purposes of development and leadership training. Qualifications:

• Must be a male student in grades 6-12


• Attend school within the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metropolitan area


• Submit a completed application


• You must have a C average or higher


• Must have a letter of recommendation by an adult


• Must be willing to attend meetings and workshops, and activities

Members in Kappa League understand and display the following characteristics:

Humility - The state of quality of being modest of mind or spirit; demonstrated by the use of “Sir”, “Please”, and “Thank You”;
Deference - A yielding in wishes, with courtesy and respect demonstrated by maintaining discipline of mind and body;
Unity - The being together as one for a common cause;
Discipline - The training to develop self-control, character, or orderliness and efficiency demonstrated by not losing ones temper and effective organization of one’s time;
Awareness - Being informed or cognizant of something through alertness in observing or interpreting what one sees, hears, or feels demonstrated by creating, planning, executing, and reporting ideas.

Program Objectives

1. To encourage high school and college attendance
2. Present the current and future occupation outlook
3. To assist persons of high school age, potential members and members of the undergraduate chapters to select appropriate careers to fit themselves for life in companionship with others
4. To develop leadership qualities.
5. To encourage the achievement of academic success
6. To provide youth with assistance in securing employment consistent with their qualifications.
